Please read all of the documents below very carefully and contact us if you have any questions. For your records, be sure to print and keep copies of everything you submit to us.

What do I need to do after I am admitted?

Students starting the Abroad at AU program in the Fall 2008 semester need to:

  1. Schedule an appointment with the US embassy or consulate in your home country. For a list of US Embassies and Consulates abroad, you can visit: http://usembassy.state.gov/. Before you can make an appointment you must pay your SEVIS fee: http://www.american.edu/ocl/iss/sevisfeeJ-1.html

  8. Dorms open on August 16, 2008 at 9:00am. Arrive on campus by August 17, 2008 at the latest in order to participate in the required orientation sessions during the welcome week. Welcome week takes place between August 17-24, 2008.
  9. Choose or drop your meal plan during the first day of class. Last day to make changes to your meal plan: September 5, 2008.
